HPE Apollo 4520 E5-2690v4

Is your business prepared to store and analyze business critical data at scale? With the HPE Apollo 4500 Systems, HPE challenges the notion that one-size-fits all for Big Data infrastructure by creating purpose-built systems that specifically address storage and analytics workloads. For object storage, the ultra-dense Apollo 4510 includes 1 server and up to 68 Large Form Factor (LFF) drives in a 4U chassis for a maximum of 544 TB per system.

For clustered storage environments, the Apollo 4520 offers two servers with built-in failover capability. For Hadoop® and other Big Data solutions, the Apollo 4530 uniquely offers 3 servers per chassis, ideal for housing 3 copies of data in a single system.

The Apollo 4500 series allows you to realize all the value of your data at the right cost and in the least amount of space. And with HPE software tools to help you deploy, operate, and optimize your valuable data center resources, you can grow your data with confidence at any scale.

Features

The HPE Apollo 4500 systems offer dense storage and compute capabilities in three distinct models: the Apollo 4510 for object storage, the Apollo 4520 for clustered storage, and the Apollo 4530 for Hadoop and Big Data applications.

For object storage deployments, the Apollo 4510, with up to 60 top-loaded hot-plug 3.5-inch drives and 8 rear-loaded drives, reaches up to 544 TB per system (for enterprise users seeking object storage in a 2U server featuring 28 Large Form Factor (LFF) drives, consider the Apollo 4200 Gen9 Server).

In clustered storage environments, the Apollo 4520 offers internal cabling for failover, plus massive disk density of 23 LFF drives per server. This system is an optimal fit for workloads such as Lustre parallel file system and Microsoft Storage Spaces.

For Hadoop analytics, the Apollo 4530 contains three servers and 45 hot-plug top-loaded drives LFF drives per chassis (for enterprise customers seeking Hadoop in 2U server featuring 28 LFF/50 Small Form Factor (SFF) drives, consider the Apollo 4200 Gen9 Server).

The HPE Apollo 4500 System portfolio offers increased space savings, the HP Apollo 4530 can fit up to 30 servers per 42U rack – 50% more density than a rack filled with 2U servers.

For applications that require high compute performance, leverage up to 2 Intel® Xeon® E5-2600v4 series processors per server, which range from 6-20 cores and can reach up to 135 W.

For fast in-memory analytics, run up to 1024 GB DDR4 memory per server.

Up to four (4) Gen3 PCIe slots and FlexibleLOM, giving the flexibility to upgrade your I/O as your application throughput demands evolve.

For object storage solutions at any scale, the Apollo 4510 offers up to 544 TB of server storage per 4U chassis, which equates to over 5.4 PB per 42U rack.

Support for 2, 4, 6, or 8 TB LFF drives for increased flexibility.

Balance cost and performance using HP Smart Array technology, which provides the option to use SAS, SATA, or SSD disk drives.

Two 2.5-inch Small Form Factor (SFF) hard drives and (2) M.2 in every compute node allow for separate boot/OS drives on a separate controller.

The Apollo 4500 System run the HPE Integrated Lights-Out 4 (iLO4) to simplify server monitoring, manage fault tolerance, and warn you in advance of possible drive failures.

HPE Smart Array technology innovations include Rapid Rebuild to reduce downtime exposure, improved data retention with Flash Backed Write Cache (FBWC) and increased data protection with advanced data mirroring.

The Converged Infrastructure (CI) design achieves energy savings with shared cooling and power while reducing complexity with fewer cables.

Serviceability at every level with hot-plug critical components (disk drives, nodes, fans and power).
